It's gold mining sector has seen significant investment in recent years, with a number of domestic and international companies pouring in money in the hopes of pouring gold. Though recently set back by COVID-19 pandemic-related challenges, the sector is set for growth at a time when hard currency income is in dire need.

Kerim Kemahlı has been the CFO of Nurol Group since 2010. He also serves as a board member of Nurol Bank, Nurol Holding, and FNSS. Prior to joining Nurol, Kemahlı served as the CFO at Abalioğlu Group and Çelebi Group, as a senior vice president for Finansbank, and as a manager for West LB. He graduated from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. In 2016 and 2018, Kemahlı was named as one of Turkey's 50 Leading CFOs, chosen jointly by Fortune Magazine and Data Expert Consultancy.
İsmet Soyocak has been the General Coordinator of CVK Mining since 2018. He previously held positions at several mining companies in the UK and Turkey before joining CVK Mining in 2014. Soyocak holds a BSc in geological engineering from Istanbul Technical University and an MSc in engineering management from Exeter University.
Erdil Taşel is the Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and MENA regional business line manager for Epiroc. He has worked in various positions for Epiroc (previously Atlas Copco) for over 20 years, having specialized in underground rock excavation equipment. Taşem graduated from Middle East Technical University with a degree in mining engineering.
William Reid has been a country editor for The Business Year since 2017. He has directed and been involved in projects covering the economies of Turkey, Oman, and Kuwait. Prior to joining TBY, Reid worked at IBM's federal consultancy practice in Washington, DC. He studied finance and economics at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
Miray Gökay has been Country Manager with The Business Year working on projects in Turkey and Oman for the past year. Prior to joining TBY, Miray worked with Bright Horizons in Boston, Massachusetts, solely focusing on B2B operations. She studied marketing and management at Bentley University in Waltham, MA.
