Colombia is going above and beyond to help its private sector fulfill ESG commitments, with initiatives such as the Green Taxonomy and the Roadmap to Carbon Neutrality. In recognition, The Business Year is hosting the industry event, “Colombia: A Leader in Green Economy.” Panelists at the event will discuss national green economy project initiatives, including circular economy processes and the use of renewable energies in industry. The Business Year will also recognize Colombia’s most sustainable companies with a series of awards.

Isabella is Executive Director of Invest in Bogotá, the investment promotion agency for the city, a public-private partnership between the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce and the Bogotá City Government. She was an early promoter of the private equity industry in Colombia since 2008. Prior to joying Invest in Bogotá, she was partner of MAS Equity Partners, a pioneer private equity fund manager in the Andean Region and previously she served as Executive Director of Colombian Association of Private Equity Funds in Colombia—ColCapital—since its inception. She has more than 16 years of experience in private equity and venture capital funds, entrepreneurship, investments and business structuring with firms like Endeavor, International High Impact Entrepreneurship Consultant Firm- as search and selection associate, Bancóldex, Colombian Developing Bank, as private equity and venture capital associate, Deceval, Colombian Central Securities Depository, as a new business developer executive and Davivienda, Colombian Commercial Bank, as junior trader. She was member of the boards of Pelpak, TGT Gamas and ColCapital. Also, Isabella is founder of WAI – Women in Alternative Investment, a network aimed at promoting, encouraging and empowering women within the Alternative Investments Industry. Industrial Engineering from Javeriana University, and received a Graduate Diploma (Specialization) in Economics from Andes University.

Juliana Gomez is the Foreign Investment Vice President for Procolombia, the nation ́s entity for the promotion of foreign direct investment (FDI), exports and international tourism. ProColombia provides a multi-function advisory service to foreign investors facilitating projects in sector such as manufacturing, agri-business, logistics, tourism, energy and information technologies. ProColombia provides a world-class service to meet foreign investors needs offering Investment opportunities, tailored information, public and private sector contacts and organized agendas or guides for visits to Colombia.

Juliana Gómez was appointed Foreign Investment Manager for Services in 2010. In 2017 she was appointed Foreign Direct Investment Manager for the Americas. Since January 2018 she assumed the role of Foreign Direct Investment Manager for North America and the Caribbean.

Juliana Gómez obtained a Bachelor ́s Degree in Business Administration from the Universidad EAFIT in Medellín, and then went on to acquire a Masters Degree in Marketing and Distribution Channels from the same university.

Her career has long been linked to Procolombia, where she began to work in 2004 as an Exports Specialist for SME.

Juan Felipe Bedoya was appointed CEO of Porsche Colombia in January 2012, same year in which the company was established as the official importer of the Volkswagen Group brands in this country. Porsche Colombia is part of Porsche Holding Salzburg, a company owned by Volkswagen AG.

He is an Economist from Universidad de los Andes and Specialist in Business and International Relations from the same institution. In addition, he completed the Executive Excellence and Mobility Program 2021 at the University of Vienna in Austria and the Highline Leadership Program in London Business School 2019.

With more than 25 years in the automotive industry, in 2020, La Nota Económica Magazine named him one of the businessmen of the year, recognizing the measures he led for Porsche Colombia and its employees during the pandemic. Likewise, he is an active opinion leader in the automotive sector and an advocate for the decarbonization of the auto industry

Juan Pablo Reyes is the Director of the Energy Innovation Initiative and the Infrastructure Department for the Andean Region at Sumitomo Corporation Andes, where he has had the opportunity to work in different related projects in the region and in Chile. Prior joining Sumitomo more than 6 years ago, Mr. Reyes occupied different positions with international experience mainly in the European & Latin America Financial Services Industry including as an Investment Consultant  in the Investment Advisory Department in KPMG in London, which handled investments of more than £30 billion.

 

Mr. Reyes earned a BSc in Business Administration from Universidad de los Andes in 2006 in Colombia, a Master of Science in Finance and Management from Cranfield School of Management in 2007 in the UK and a MBA from IE Business School in 2012 in Spain

Andrea Pradilla is a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Colombia, and later specialized in international business law at Universidad de los Andes. She holds a master's of science in foreign service with honors from Georgetown University and an honors certificate in international business diplomacy. Since 2014, Pradilla has been the Director of GRI Hispanic America, where she promotes corporate sustainability and sustainable development through the sustainability reporting and the use of GRI Standards.

Andres is a business administrator, an environmental management specialist also with a master’s degree in social responsibility and sustainability from the Universidad Externado de Colombia.  He has more than 7 years of professional experience in the financial sector (banking and pension funds) and he has been a sustainability consultant supporting different organizations in the consolidation of sustainability strategies and information reporting mechanisms.  He has been part of Asobancaria for a year, where he leads the management of the Protocolo Verde Committee and was part of the updating of the renewal document signed for the 2022-2027 term.
