HAS NOW PASSED
With the UAE setting a world-beating example in its COVID-19 vaccination program, the country as a whole can now turn its full attention to spurring economic advancement and investing in new, exciting projects. And having weathered the storm of both the pandemic and recent shocks to oil prices, Dubai's ambitions remain undiminished.
One jewel among Dubai's pioneering projects is Dubai South, which represents a landmark in the Emirate's vision. Identified as Dubai's flagship urban project, Dubai South is an emerging 145-sqkm, master-planned city based on the happiness of the individual. This revolutionary urban project will, upon completion, house a million people. Launched in 2006 as Government of Dubai's flagship urban project, Dubai South is an integrated airport city located in the southern end of Jebel Ali, spanning across 145sqkm of development. In line with Dubai Plan 2021, the city's masterplan embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to build a world-class community of happy, creative, and empowered people; an inclusive society; a preferred place to live, work and invest; a smart and sustainable city; and a global business hub.
With its proximity to the Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), set to become the world's largest airport, and the Jebel Ali Port, Dubai South presents a complete economic platform for every kind of business and industry. The mixed-use development project can accommodate around 1 million people, create 500,000 jobs, and is home to Expo 2020. Dubai South encapsulates important verticals, including the Logistics District, Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub (MBRAH), and Residential District.
Representing the epitome of logistical innovation encapsulated within a premier infrastructure network, Dubai South's Logistics District offers premier services and operations as well as uninterrupted access to Jebel Ali Port via a bonded logistics corridor. The district comprises multiple zones, which have direct access to the cargo terminals at Al Maktoum International Airport; EZDubai, a fully dedicated e-commerce free zone strategically located in the heart of the district; and a Contract Logistics Zone, which, through its proximity and uninterrupted access to Jebel Ali Port via a bonded logistics corridor, enhances efficiencies of businesses reliant on sea freight. Furthermore, Dubai South is home to Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub, which stands as the region's first aerotropolis, and to infrastructure dedicated to a diverse aviation ecosystem on the doorstep of an airport destined to become the world's largest. Moreover, Dubai South offers a wide range of real estate offerings across residential and mixed-use properties, including the Residential District, which is home to Dubai South's flagship residential project, The Pulse, an urban mixed-use development that comprises 1,400 apartments and townhouses, shopping mall, hotels, retail, as well as communities and properties by renowned developers.
